A Nursing Rocking Chair Made for the Hours Feeds Actually Take

The Jolié is a nursing rocking chair with three details that come together in a way most others do not. The full bouclé upholstery is soft and durable enough for daily contact through the earliest months. The extra-tall back cushion supports head, neck, and shoulders through every feed, so the strain of long sessions holding a baby doesn't settle into the upper back the way it does in a standard armchair. The interchangeable beechwood rocking blades and cone legs give it two lives, which is where this bouclé rocking chair nursery piece separates from a piece that only serves one stage.

From Late-Night Feeds to a Lounge Chair Beyond the Nursery

This is a breastfeeding rocking chair sized for the reality of early parenthood. The 2am feeds, the slow morning wake-ups with a baby who won't settle, the quiet stretches where the room is still dark and the whole household is waiting for the day to start. The bouclé holds up to the everyday spills and the constant contact. The rocking motion soothes without being sudden. When the nursing stage passes, swap the rocking blades for the cone legs and the same chair becomes a considered lounge chair for a living room or a bedroom. This is what separates the Jolié from a maternity rocking chair chosen only for the newborn months, and what it shares with the wider range of nursing chairs in the Nuage collection, a nursing rocking chair Australia families keep well past the stage that first prompted the purchase.

Material & How to care

The Jolié Rocker is upholstered in a soft performance bouclé blend fabric, chosen for its warmth, durability, and the way it holds up to everyday family life. The beechwood base and cone legs bring natural warmth and structural integrity.

Spot clean the bouclé fabric with a soft, damp cloth for everyday marks.
For tougher spills, use a mild soap solution and blot gently. Do not rub.
For a deeper clean, steam cleaning is safe and effective on the bouclé fabric.
For best results, use the Wonderspot Encapsulating Spot Cleaner, specifically formulated to protect and preserve your furniture.
Avoid alcohol, harsh chemical cleaners, or abrasive cloths on the fabric or timber.
Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight to maintain the fabric and timber finish.
The beechwood components can be wiped with a dry or lightly damp cloth.
Be cautious with dark clothing and denim, as dye transfer can occur on light-coloured fabric.

Assembly Instructions

Unpack and lay all components on a clean, flat surface. You should have the chair frame, beechwood rocking blades, seat cushion, back support cushion, and hardware bag.
Attach the beechwood rocking blades to the base of the chair frame using the supplied hardware. Tighten firmly until secure.
Place the seat cushion onto the chair frame and fasten the ties underneath.
Position the tall nursing back cushion and secure it using the attachment points at the rear of the frame.
Attach the four legs to the ottoman base, turning clockwise until hand-tight. Use the supplied allen key to secure fully.

Switching note: To switch from rocker to fixed armchair, remove the beechwood rocking blades and attach the cone legs using the same hardware points. No additional tools required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Jolié be used as a regular armchair after the nursing stage?

Yes, and this is by design. Swap the beechwood rocking blades for the included cone legs and the Jolié becomes a standalone lounge chair. Available in Cream and Ash Grey, the neutral palette means it sits comfortably in a living room, bedroom, or any space in your home long after the nursery years are done.

Is the ottoman included, or is it sold separately?

The ottoman is included as part of the Jolié Rocker & Ottoman set. It's designed to lift your legs during feeding, relieving lower-back tension and promoting a more comfortable nursing position. When not in use for nursing, it works well as a standalone footrest.

How supportive is it for feeding?

Very. The extra-tall back cushion is designed specifically for nursing, supporting your head, neck and shoulders through every feed. The matching ottoman lifts your legs to take pressure off your lower back, which makes a real difference during longer feeds and night sessions. Together, they create a setup that holds you properly so you can focus on your baby rather than adjusting your position.

What's the difference between the two cushion positions?

The back cushion can be positioned high to support your head, neck and shoulders fully during feeds, which is ideal for the nursing stage. Positioned lower, it creates a more relaxed silhouette suited to everyday sitting.

Is the bouclé fabric easy to keep clean?

Yes. The Jolié is upholstered in a performance bouclé blend chosen for both its look and its practicality. Spot clean with a soft damp cloth for everyday marks. For tougher spills, use the Wonderspot Encapsulating Spot Cleaner or a mild soap solution blotted gently. Steam cleaning is also safe on the bouclé. Avoid rubbing or harsh chemical cleaners. If you have pets, be mindful that prolonged contact can cause pilling over time.

Does it arrive assembled?

The Jolié arrives flat-packed and is designed to be straightforward to assemble at home. With clear step-by-step instructions and all hardware included, most customers find it a quick and easy process.

Metro deliveries (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide) typically arrive within 2 to 4 business days after dispatch. Rural and regional areas may take 5 to 10 business days. Orders over $700 qualify for free shipping to metro areas. Please ensure someone is available to accept and sign for delivery, as redelivery fees may apply if no one is home.
